LyricLab is a karaoke lyrics trainer for iOS and web. Your privacy is straightforward: we don't collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
None. LyricLab does not collect any personal information, usage analytics, crash reports, device identifiers, or behavioural data. There are no user accounts, no sign-ups, and no tracking of any kind.
LyricLab stores the following data locally on your device only:
Your imported audio files and lyrics, playback preferences (text size, theme, language), bookmarked lyric lines, and practice session statistics. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
LyricLab makes the following network requests, none of which transmit personal data:
LRCLib (lrclib.net): When you import a song, LyricLab may search for matching synced lyrics using the song's title and artist name. No personal or device information is sent — only the song metadata you can see in the app.
Apple Music (MusicKit): If you choose to browse your Apple Music library within LyricLab, the app communicates with Apple's MusicKit framework. This is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. LyricLab does not access, store, or transmit any data from your Apple Music account beyond what is needed to play the selected song.
ShazamKit: If you use the "Identify Song" feature, your device's microphone captures a short audio sample which is processed by Apple's ShazamKit framework to identify the song. The audio sample is not stored or transmitted by LyricLab — it is handled entirely by Apple's on-device and cloud matching service, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
LyricLab requests microphone access only for the ShazamKit song identification feature. The microphone is activated only when you tap "Identify Song" and is deactivated immediately after identification completes or is cancelled. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted by LyricLab.
LyricLab does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, or social media tracking. The only third-party services used are LRCLib (for lyrics search), Apple MusicKit (for Apple Music playback), and Apple ShazamKit (for song identification).
LyricLab includes an optional "Report a Bug" feature that opens a bug report form or your device's email app. The report may automatically include your app version, iOS version, and device model to help us diagnose issues. This information is only submitted if you choose to send the report. We do not collect any diagnostic data automatically.
Bug reports submitted via the in-app form are stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to the LyricLab development team. Bug reports sent via email go to hello@hilarioushyenas.com. All reports are used solely to fix issues and are not shared with third parties.
LyricLab does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the app collects no data at all, it is safe for users of all ages.
If we ever change our data practices, we will update this page and note the new effective date. Given that LyricLab collects no data, changes are unlikely.
